it is only in INDIAN PHILOSOPHY AND CULTURE in the retirement age holy personalities renounce his post and power involuntarily. like DALAI LAMA  and in Jainism the acharya renounces his seat, post, power and hand over to his disciples and becomes muni or priest . they remains unattached to the worldly desires. it indicates the open bigheartedness and broad mindedness . we respect to DALAI LAMA. IN THIS WAY IN OUR COUNTRY THE TRANSFER OF POWERS ALSO TAKE PLACE PEACEFULLY.
